Training Programs
We are currently seeking an Academic Training Program Administrator to coordinate academic training and enrichment opportunities for students at the undergraduate, graduate, and postdoc levels at MPFI.
The selected candidate will administer the selection process for identifying the best Graduate and Undergraduate students among the larger number of applicants and matching them to specific opportunities in the MPFI research groups, including managing the selection and integration of new graduate students; coordinates graduate course logistics; coordinate programming related to undergraduate students which includes courses such as Introduction to Neuroscience, and Advanced Life Science Technologies; assist with curriculum development for the International Max Planck Research Schools (IMPRS) and Florida-based universities; serve as a mentor to offer individualized career advice and guidance to undergraduate students; ensure a vibrant and interactive trainee environment and community by coordinating activities, including journal clubs, social events, student presentations, and student/postdoc-invited speaker seminar programs; market and promote the MPFI graduate program opportunities including design and dissemination of posters, an internet/intranet site, and an online application portal; maintain records of current students’ and training program alumni progress; coordinate activities relating to MPFI’s postdoctoral office, including our trainee seminar series and travel grant program; coordinate professional and career development workshops for MPFI trainees in collaboration with MPFI Events and Communications Departments; and perform other duties as assigned or as appropriate.
A Master’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent is required (PhD is preferred) in addition to a minimum of two (2) years of related experience. The selected candidate must have experience in a life science research setting (neuroscience preferred); must possess attention to detail and accuracy, good communication skills; and high levels of discretion, professional judgment, ethics and confidentiality.
