Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Pet Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a key member of our retail sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our pet parents and their fur babies. Your goal will be to consult with customers, answer nutritional questions, recommend and sell products, increase customer satisfaction, and contribute to the growth of our store.
Duties:
- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, assisting them with finding products and answering questions.
- Utilize your knowledge of products to make recommendations and suggest alternative products that may meet customer needs.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge, staying up-to-date on new products and promotions.
-Ability to lift heavy items, up to 30lb bags of dog food.
- Answer phones and schedule grooming appointments.
- Manage cash handling and operate a cash register accurately, handling returns and exchanges as needed.
- Effectively communicate with customers ensuring they are satisfied with their shopping experience.
- Work collaboratively with other Pet Retail Sales Associates, Pet Groomers and the management team to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to selling and maintaining a high level of sales performance.
- Participate in inventory management and merchandising activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a Pet Retail / Pet Grooming environment is highly desirable, with a focus on pet nutrition.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Basic math skills, with the ability to accurately handle cash and operate a cash register.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, with the ability to communicate with customers in multiple languages.
Skills:
- Excellent selling and upselling skills, with a focus on increasing customer satisfaction and sales performance.
- Strong basic and retail math skills, with the ability to accurately handle cash and operate a cash register.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, providing clear and concise product information.
- Experience working in a pet retail store or similar retail environment, with a focus on customer service and product knowledge.
- Proven ability to supervise and support other sales associates, with a focus on maintaining a high level of sales performance.
- Ability to sell and promote products, with a focus on meeting sales targets and increasing customer satisfaction.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 39 per week
