As we expand our operations, we are seeking a Packaging Technician to ensure all outgoing shipments adhere to MIL-SPEC packaging standards.

Job Summary:
The Packaging Technician is responsible for executing MIL-SPEC-compliant packaging for our in-house manufactured parts and windows intended for DLA contracts. This role requires an understanding of military packaging specifications, material handling, and quality assurance to meet government contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIL-STD-2073-1 compliant packaging for all parts and windows produced for DLA contracts.
• Adhere to ASTM-D3951 and MIL-STD-129 marking and labeling requirements.
• Utilize preservation methods, including barrier bagging, cushioning, unit packaging, and load securing, to protect products during transit and storage.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with MIL-STD packaging requirements, including labeling, barcode scanning, and contract-specific instructions.
• Work with procurement and production teams to ensure all necessary packaging materials are available.
• Conduct inspections and audits to verify packaging integrity and compliance with contractual and government requirements.
• Operate and maintain packaging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve packaging issues to maintain efficiency and prevent shipment delays.
• Maintain detailed records of packaging procedures, inspection results, and compliance reports.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience with MIL-SPEC packaging in a defense, aerospace, or military contract environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of MIL-STD-2073, MIL-STD-129, ASTM-D3951, and other relevant military packaging regulations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, packaging requirements, and government contract instructions.
• Experience in handling wood crates, vapor barrier packaging, foam inserts, and other protective materials.
• Proficiency in using barcode scanners and automated labeling systems.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to comply with ITAR regulations.

ITAR Compliance Requirement:
As required by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. To conform to U.S. Government defense regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
