You will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors such as cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability impact to schedule, and process improvement. You may participate in Engineering Review Boards.Responsibilities : Acts as responsible engineer for a subsystem or a major portion of a system, specializing in the RF Payload integration, test and verification of the payloadDevelops system requirements and system specificationsPerforms requirements analysis and system trade studiesSupports system architecture design and system level testingLeads RF system level test activitiesDevelops methods, standards, plans and procedures for systems engineering tools and systems testsAnalyzes operational issues and problems and implements corrective actionsMonitors and manages technical, cost, and schedule performance on internal efforts of limited complexityContributes to portions of technical proposalsIntroduces innovative or creative techniques and solutions in specialty areaLeads the testing and troubleshooting of the RF payload during spacecraft integration and testReceives broad assignments with limited supervisionWorks on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various factors includingcost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, impact to schedule, and process improvementExercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria forobtaining resultsDirects teams identifying design problems and implementing corrective actionMay represent the company with customers or venders when finding solutions to technical problemsSupports or conducts design reviews as appropriateMinimum Requirements : Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent residentB.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mathematics, or physics. An additional four years of experience may be substituted for a degree4 years of related experienceWillingness and ability to accommodate infrequent travel up to 10% of the time and the ability to work off shifts as neededUnderstanding of mathematics and physics as they relate to electrical systems and componentsProficiency in the use of Microsoft OfficePreferred Qualifications : M.S. degree in a specialized field of engineering or science preferredUnderstanding of and proficiency in the use of computer aided design tools such as Microwave Office, Advanced Design System (ADS), or Ansys HFSSSome experience with C , VBA, Matlab, or Python desirableIn support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California is : $113,000.00 - $189,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
