The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the physical production cells and workflows related to products, such as production cell design, product flow, early-stage product DFM along with supporting processes, and control documents to ensure a safe, repeatable, and high-quality manufacturing environment. In addition, the Manufacturing Engineer may provide support for product value streams in plant layout, process flow, and project engineering at all facilities.The Manufacturing Engineer is also called upon for troubleshooting on all manner of severe or vexing product or process flow problems company wide.

- Evaluate current product and manufacturing process flow, identify hidden factories, and design out for improved safety and efficiency
- Develop new manufacturing processes or improving existing ones to make them more safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly and to meet required standards.
- Review early product designs and conduct feasibility studies to determine if proposed design will work in practice.
- Evaluate machinery and tools to determine if they are appropriate for the task at hand.
- Evaluate manufacturing cells and value streams in the plant and perform beta testing of new equipment or processes to test real world conditions.
- Work with the necessary groups to ensure smooth interactions and timely completion of projects, specifically, be ‘product design to manufacturing’ liaison for new product introduction
- Conduct research to identify new materials or methods that can be used in the manufacturing process.
- Assist with all other activities as requested by the Engineering Director.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
- Must have continuous improvement, zero defect mindset
- The ability to work with and set strategic goals with Safety, Production, Quality, and Design teams.
- Attention to detail is essential with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- The ability to understand basic manufacturing techniques such as milling, turning, grinding and heat treatment.
- Ability to apply Engineering principles in practical application with strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, a high level of motivation, and the ability to work independently with a minimal supervision.
- The ability to read technical drawings and specifications in a clear, accurate and complete form.
- Develop necessary control documents such as Standard Work and Work Instructions.
- The ability to run process capability studies on processes and integrate improvements
- Excellent organizational skills and excellent computer skills.
- Excellent project management skills, ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing as required, excellent relationship skills, attention to detail and understanding of the big picture.
- Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate concepts, instructions, procedures, and develop proposals.
- Proficient skill level in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or other design applications.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
- Work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment – noise, dust, odors, etc.
- Able to wear the required personal protective equipment – safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
