What are the responsibilities and job description for the EOR Respite Worker position at Maxim Healthcare Services?
The In-Home Respite Worker assists family members in maintaining the consumer at home. This includes relieving family members from basic self-help needs and other activities of daily living, including interaction, socialization, and continuation of daily routines that family members would ordinarily perform and/or facilitate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains confidentiality of all clients
- Performs duties and procedures, as assigned/directed, in an accurate and timely manner
- Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures, including, but not limited to Universal Precautions
- Notifies the Company office of any abnormal findings or conditions
- Adheres to standards and procedures of the Company’s In-Home Respite Services
- Arrives at the client’s home on time, and leaves when shift schedule is complete
- Represents Companion Services with a positive image at all times
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability when meeting needs
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- Education and experience in related duties preferred
- Community CPR training and First Aid Training required (see Lanterman Act, Title 17)
- Strong telephone and communication skills
- Valid Driver’s license if required to drive
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- May not be a parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of the consumer
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the
- English language may be required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
