What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Teacher position at Maximum Child LLC?
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
- a minimum of 6 months early childhood teaching experience
- classroom management of learning centers that has children happy and busy
- a repertoire of Christian songs, poems and fingerplays that flow easily throughout the day
- lesson planning skills that involve Bible lessons, thematic crafts, stories, music, games, and academic content
- knowledge pertaining to child health and safety.
- knowledge of age-appropriate expectations for behavior and academics and willingness to consistently utilize conscious discipline techniques
- the ability and willingness to be flexible and cooperative with staffing and tasks
- the ability to communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback.
- the ability to nurture the parent-child relationship.
- the natural capacity to establish strong and caring relationships with the children in your care
- availability to attend professional development events and obtain 15 hrs per year of continuing education
Duties
- Daily Bible teaching that includes fun songs and Bible memory
- Daily care giving tasks such as toileting, feeding, and playing with the children.
- Maintain an open, friendly and cooperative relationship with each child and each child's family.
- Provide a learning environment for a child that is warm, supporting, and comforting.
- Design and implement an indoor and outdoor learning environment that engages each child.
- Conduct daily safety inspection of the classroom and outdoor learning environments.
- Attend regularly scheduled Maximum Child staff meetings and staff trainings.
- Report suspicions of child abuse and neglect to Director according to state law and agency procedure.
- Daily cleaning involves sweeping and mopping the activity room & bathroom (to include corners and baseboards) and weekly sanitizing of all toys.
- Hourly, daily and monthly record keeping kept up to date per DSS regulations and center policies.
- Prepare and implement transitioning to the next age-level class; taking care to involve parents in the planning of transition and taking an active role in the transition process.
Requirements
OTHER APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid training (free training schedule availability www.scnsc.org)
Annual blood borne pathogen training which includes an exposure control plan
Completion of SC DSS 15- hour health and safety course
An established continuing education account with www.scendeavors.org
Completion of Child Care Center Staff File Checklist includes:
- permission for Maximum Child to run background screenings
- Health assessment by a physician
- TB test (or previous results)
