Job Title: Oracle Finance Technical Architect
Job Location: local to Las Vegas
Responsibilities:
The Oracle Finance Technical Architect will serve as a subject matter expert in Oracle FP&A, evaluating, designing, and implementing technology solutions aligned with business needs and the broader enterprise architectural vision. They will partner with business stakeholders, technology leaders, implementation partner(s), and Agile delivery teams to bring to life and sustain an Oracle FP&A solution. They will offer in-depth technical expertise in Oracle FP&A and provide configuration management, technical dependency analysis, and configure the FP&A solution with the workflows, reports, interfaces, configurations, extensions, and forms necessary to meet requirements. They also support upgrade and patch management, incident management, and unit testing.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle EPM and Esse based cube implementation and excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drive Oracle FP&A technology and data solution assessments to provide point-of-view and recommendations on Management Reporting, Capital Project, Planning, Annual Budget & Forecasting, Daily Operations Report and Property weekly forecasting.
- Initiate and lead open conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
- Initiate open and candid coaching conversations at all levels.
- Develop documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer sessions for the business teams.
- Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail.
- Anticipate stakeholder needs, and develop and discuss potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required.
- Initiate Data Governance and Data Management capabilities to resolve business problems and achieve client’s strategic business goals.
- Resolve the complexities of cross-property and diverse teams competing requirements.
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Oracle Esse Based tools
- Perform data integration tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), to populate the analytics warehouse, and conduct performance tuning and optimization activities to ensure efficient data processing and query performance
Required Skills:
- Ability to partner with business process owners on data matters related to information used by the client in internal control/financial reporting activities
- Provide Oracle SME support for the execution of the FP&A reporting process (DOR, budget, planning etc), ensuring reports are able to be created timely and accurately in accordance with policies as well as meeting internal and external stakeholder requirements.
- Provide Oracle SME input to improve financial analytics of varying complexity by bringing together knowledge of data stores, data access/advanced querying capabilities, analytical thought leadership, and financial expertise.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies/anomalies and evaluate the impact on financial reporting and analyses. Offer potential solutions to bridge data insights with business needs.
- Provide SME knowledge and support for the design and implementation of new technology solutions to enable automation of financial reporting processes.
- Document future state architecture diagrams that show finance business processes, data flows, data lineage and technical reporting logic/calculations to enable and contribute to impact assessments associated with transformations and promote transparency/shared understanding in processes.
- Provide Oracle SME design support to define new data flows and built-in integrity controls to ensure data availability and accuracy. Assist in identifying system business requirements for of Management Reporting, Capital Project, Planning, Annual Budget & Forecasting, Daily Operations Report and Property weekly forecasting and potential interfaces technology
- Understand the design of Management Reporting, Capital Project, Planning, Annual Budget & Forecasting, Daily Operations Report and Property weekly forecasting changes and impact to data models, helping to evaluate and identify financial reporting risks and opportunities.
- Liaise between finance and TDD teams as a translator to ensure appropriate understanding and interpretation in communications and requests.
- Assist in training and knowledge sharing among FP&A and Property based teams
- Optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment by designing and or identifying automated controls.
- Support requirements and requests of internal and external auditors in their evaluation of the control environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA and 5 years of relevant experience -OR-
- MS/MA or higher and 3 years of relevant experience -OR-
- Demonstrated experience applying theoretical/fundamental computer science concepts through the design, development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of computer infrastructure and networks
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certifications
- Agile Certifications (e.g., Scrum etc.)
- Proven record of multiple successful Oracle EPM and Esse Based cube implementations
