Job Requirements
- Responsible for pulling and terminating, and troubleshooting Coaxial, RJ45, Cat 5/6, and fiber is a plus.
- Pulls cable, mounts network devices, installs telephony hardware.
- Responsible for technical diagnosis, installation, and support of Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm, CCTV/ Video and/or Access Control systems installed at assigned customer locations.
- Ability to properly test and troubleshoot installation.
- Technicians should have basic hand tools for cabling, screw drivers, pliers, strippers, etc.
- Manage devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, and WAP
- Ability to populate cabinets by following supplied rack/cabling elevations.
- Contacts dispatch if help in troubleshooting or resolving the issue is required.
- Supports inventory control.
- Handles cable for device routing, ribbon breakouts, component assemblies and custom splicing projects.
- Maintains database records for all products under testing for ISO documentation.
- Follows customer specific procedures for documentation or notification as described in Customer Notes, Service Ticket, or Installation Documentation.
- Responsible for maintaining an elevated level of professionalism with clients, vendors, and colleagues; works to establish a positive working relationship.
- Open to interstate and out of state travel with overnight stays.
- Provides timely and completed documentation of work performed.
- Drives company/personal vehicle throughout service area while following all local laws.
- Operates vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environment.
We are Looking for
- Entry-level technician with a strong ability and willingness to learn technical skills and disciplines, even without prior experience or knowledge.
CCTV technician familiar with ground and aerial installations.
- Network hardware configuration experience
- Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
- Have knowledge of locating CAT 5/6 cable, coaxial, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
- Must maintain site security and cleanliness.
- Must have PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Must possess the ability to quickly learn corporate databases.
- Must be comfortable on a ladder or Ariel Lift Device (Man, Scissor or Boom Lifts).
- A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.
- Field Tech Physical Requirement - Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 75 lbs.; works in all weather conditions.
- Meet the requirements of the Texas DPS Installation services (no felony convictions).
- Pass a drug screening.
