Essential Job Functions:
Leadership and Vision
· Develop and communicate Maxwell Construction’s safety vision, policies, and strategies to foster a culture supporting comprehensive safety programs and initiatives that align with industry regulations and company standards.
Proactive Management
· Anticipate potential issues and take ownership of the safety culture by providing solutions, training, and mentoring across all organizational levels.
Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement
· Utilize logic and reasoning to assess safety-related issues, identify strengths and weaknesses, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Training and Compliance
· Coordinate and lead safety programs across multiple job sites, provide site specific planning and awareness to minimize risks and prevent injuries or property damage.
· Ensure safety training meets both internal and external (customer and regulatory) requirements, enabling employees to perform tasks safely.
Incident Investigation
· Lead investigations into safety incidents, ensuring thorough analysis and action.
Safety and Quality Assurance
· Enforce safety protocols and quality control measures across all projects to maintain a culture of safety and ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
· Oversee safety inspections and analyze incident data to develop preventive and corrective action practices.
· Coordinate with 3rd party certified training providers who offer equipment inspections, evaluation of safety program needs, and provide certification and destruction testing.
Position Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, construction, safety management or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years as a safety manager or equivalent in a related field.
· Ability to develop and implement strategic safety plans and initiatives.
· Manage documentation and reporting related to safety incidents and compliance measures.
· Lead and coordinate safety training sessions for all employees to ensure a thorough understanding of safety practices and regulations.
· OSHA 30, HAZWOPER certification
· Valid Driver’s License.
Desired Skills and Experience:
· Strong ability to generate professional written materials and deliver effective verbal presentations.
· In-depth technical knowledge of OSHA, federal, state and local regulatory standards related to construction safety.
· Highly knowledgeable in excavations, confined space entry, traffic control, respirable crystalline silica, rigging, and heavy equipment operations; along with the leadership skills to influence the desired change in behaviors of others needed for safety and compliance.
· OSHA 500 or 510 certification
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must pass a pre-employment drug, physical capability screening.
