Position Overview: The General Foreman oversees daily operations on our construction sites. They manage the field operations, subcontractors, equipment, and coordination ensuring the timely and safe execution of construction projects. The role requires strong leadership, technical skills, and a solid understanding of construction practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision: Lead and manage construction crews, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular site inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Scheduling: Develop and manage work schedules, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely project progression.
- Budget Management: Monitor project expenditures, assist in budget preparation, and implement cost-effective measures without compromising quality.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets company and industry standards, conducting regular quality checks.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations and project management, providing regular updates on project status.
- Training and Development: Mentor and train crew members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Technical Skills: Understand broad and general construction practices. Understand and perform basic line and grade for construction, making necessary adjustments to ensure work is executed correctly. Oversee and/or perform tasks such as cutting, filling, and proper compaction of dirt and stone. Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

- Submit purchase receipts via the job costing app daily.
- Maintain and care for company equipment, including trucks, small tools, forms, and other equipment.

Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to exert 200-500 pounds of force occasionally.
- Maintain physical stamina, with full use of arms, hands, and legs.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders.
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
- Good vision with the ability to see details at close range and at a distance (with or without correction) and distinguish colors.
Environmental Conditions:
- Work may be performed outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.
- Must wear appropriate protective equipment, including safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
- Exposure to high noise levels, grease, dust, and other substances commonly associated with construction sites. Work may be conducted in dusty or dirty surroundings.
