What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer position at Maxwell Construction?
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for taking projects from conceptual stages through closeout. Manage, evaluate and assess information necessary to construct a core construction project on time, within budget and to the quality specified by the contract documents.
Description of Tasks
- Build client and subcontractor relationships
- Team with Architects, Engineers, and Planners to create and manage a design schedule
- Establish project forecasts and budgets
- Manage costs
- Accept full responsibility for project execution
- Mentor and develop project management staff
Position Requirements
- Obtained an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology. Procore experience is a plus.
- Oversee and make decisions related to contract drawings and subcontract information. Ensure drawings and specifications accurately relate to estimate.
- Manage project budget including reviews of invoices, follow through on claim submittals
- Previous experience leading a successful project management team
- Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and scale multi-floor scaffolding
- Hold regular check-in meetings with team members.
- Prepare Scope of Work documents for trades.
- Develop reports such as General Conditions Items, labor, safety, Change Order logs, etc.
- Scheduling and managing subcontractor trade coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings and submittal review meetings.
- Provide on-site subcontractor/trade coordination.
- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
