Main Job Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch CDL truck drivers to pick up and deliver containers from the port to their respective destinations in a timely and efficient manner
- Plan and optimize routes for drivers to ensure timely arrivals and avoid delays
- Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and monitor their progress during pickups and deliveries
- Track and monitor the location and status of containers to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is provided to both the drivers and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related certifications preferred
- Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation coordination, preferably with port container pickup experience
- Strong knowledge of the transportation industry, particularly in port and intermodal operations
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with drivers, coworkers, and port personnel effectively
- Proficiency with dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
