We're seeking a highly skilled Shopify Developer to join our team and create high-performing ecommerce stores. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders, designers, and developers to translate mockups and UI / UX requirements into functional, user-friendly, multi-device, pixel perfect themes. Leveraging your deep understanding of Shopify themes, Liquid templating language, and APIs, you'll optimize performance and integrate third-party applications to extend store functionality. You'll be responsible for managing the codebase using GitHub, ensuring clear commits, streamlined merges, and flawless production builds for internal review and testing. Experience with troubleshooting theme-related issues and staying up to date on the latest Shopify advancements is essential.
Responsibilities
- Work with our Senior Engineer to develop and maintain high-performance Shopify stores, ensuring a seamless user experience across desktop, Android, and iOS.
- Collaborate with UX Team and developers to translate mockups and UI / UX requirements into functional themes.
- Utilize Shopify's specific theme development features and best practices to ensure optimal user experience and store performance.
- Work closely with brand managers to understand their business goals and translate them into technical requirements.
- Integrate third-party apps and plugins to extend Shopify's functionality and enhance store features.
- Optimize store performance for speed, search engine optimization (SEO), and conversion rates.
- Leverage Shopify's APIs, such as the Cart Transform API, to customize checkout experiences and enhance customer journeys.
- Develop and implement strategies for using Shopify's Combined Listings & Bundles app to create compelling product offers and increase average order value.
- Review code written by team members, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Manage the codebase using Git, including reviewing Git pushes, merging branches, and resolving conflicts, knowledge of Git Actions
- Create production builds of themes for internal review and testing.
- Troubleshoot theme-related issues and identify solutions to improve theme performance.
- Stay up to date on the latest Shopify theme development features and best practices.
- Work with our project manager and senior engineer to create sprint schedules.
- Work with UX and analytics teams to track user engagement KPIs to help develop good A / B testing strategies and implementation.
- Create technical documentation, write test cases for features, and provide dev preview demos.
- Identify dependencies and provide estimations.
