Customs Compliance Specialist
Maxxis International, the U.S. division of a global tire manufacturer, has a challenging opportunity for a Customs Compliance Specialist in Suwanee, GA. Responsibilities :
Including but not limited to :
- Ensure all import and export operations adhere to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade laws
- Stay updated with changes in customs regulations and communicate necessary adjustments to relevant departments
- Prepare and review import / export documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and certificates of origin
- Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate clearance of shipments
- Resolve any issues related to customs clearance, including tariff classification, valuation, and duty payments
- Conduct regular audits of customs entries to ensure compliance and accuracy with ISA
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., logistics, procurement, sales) and external partners (e.g., freight forwarders, suppliers) to resolve customs-related issues
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, HTS classification, import / export procedures, USMCA, FTZ / Bonded regulations, ACE portal usage and familiarity with CTPAT program
