- Collaborative Teamwork: Partner closely with lead teachers to bring individualized educational plans (IEPs) to life, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
- Direct Support: Provide hands-on assistance with personal care tasks and expertly manage behavioral crises, offering unwavering support to students during classroom activities to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Positive Communication: Harness the power of positive behavior support strategies to cultivate essential social skills, enhance communication abilities, and promote independence among students.
- Cultivating a Supportive Atmosphere: Cultivate a warm, supportive atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to embrace their journey of learning and growth.
- Documentation and Reporting: Thoroughly document student progress and maintain open lines of communication with parents, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring everyone is informed and involved in each student's educational journey.
- Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older to be eligible for employment
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Driver's license: Valid and current U.S. driver's license required
- Availability: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm (some flexibility available). FT and PT opportunities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds
- Qualities: Reliability, compassion, and patience, coupled with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in people's lives
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust to varying needs, preferences, and communication styles of those we support
- Flexibility: Capacity to adapt to changing environments and respond effectively to unexpected situations
- Compensation: $19 per hour
