POSITION SUMMARY
A Bill of Materials Specialist is responsible for verifying the accuracy of complete bill of materials required to produce jobs in the manufacturing process. The incumbent must possess solid experience in data entry and working knowledge of supply chain management.

Essential Functions:
BOM Creation and Maintenance:
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials for new and existing products.
- Update BOMs based on engineering changes, production requirements, or process improvements.
Data Accuracy and Integrity:
- Ensure all components, sub-assemblies, and materials are correctly documented in the BOM.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure BOM accuracy and consistency with design and production requirements.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with engineering to interpret design documents and translate them into BOMs.
- Assist the Engineering team to develop cost effective solutions to minimize number of unique SKUs.
- Coordinate with procurement to verify material availability and costs.
- Partner with manufacturing to ensure BOMs align with production capabilities and schedules.
ERP System Management:
- Input and manage BOM data in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Monitor system workflows and resolve discrepancies related to BOMs.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements to BOM management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for BOM-related activities.
Support Production and Supply Chain:
- Provide BOM-related support during production planning and inventory control processes.
- Assist in troubleshooting production or material-related issues linked to BOM inaccuracies.
Parts Change Management:
- Management of ECR processes (engineering change requests)
- Audits Bill of Materials when needed to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Effectively communicate internally and externally anything related to product or part changes and understand implication across organization.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Proven experience in BOM management, manufacturing, or engineering roles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and material planning tools.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, developing deliverables within tight deadlines
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Data Entry required
Computer Skills: Experience in Microsoft Office required; engineering documentation experience preferred.
