Summary

We are seeking an experienced Raw Ingredient Buyer to manage inventory and procurement of raw materials for our manufacturing facility. This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills to ensure the seamless supply of materials for production.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee replenishment of raw materials, monitor lead times, and optimize storage and shelf life.
• Build relationships with suppliers, attend audits with QA, and ensure accurate material pricing and freight costs.
• Identify opportunities for cost reductions through supplier qualifications, freight optimization, and contract negotiations.
• Work closely with scheduling teams to expedite materials and coordinate supply chain logistics.
• Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues, manage returns, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Partner with R&D for new ingredient sourcing, logistics for truckload management, and accounting for invoice reconciliation.
• Be available 24/7 to handle raw material supply issues that may impact production.
• Monitor inventory reports, manage dead stock, and oversee quarterly inventory processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Experience in food commodity purchasing is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
