Maybelle Center is seeking an Environmental Services Specialist - Housekeeper to foster a welcoming and caring atmosphere for residents, their families, visitors, and staff. They will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment throughout the facility. This includes performing various cleaning tasks in resident rooms, common areas, and office spaces. Additional responsibilities involve assisting with residents' laundry, removing trash and recycling from rooms and common areas, and organizing and restocking janitorial supplies in storage closets. This position is full-time, on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm PST with back-up on weekends as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning of Residents Rooms
- Clean resident rooms, restrooms, and common areas as outlined in the Housekeeping Daily Checklist.
- Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and wipe down counters and appliances.
- Replace bed linens as scheduled.
- Remove trash and recycling from residents’ rooms.
- Collect dirty laundry and deliver it to the laundry room; pick up and return clean laundry to resident rooms.
- Sanitize rooms and common areas in accordance with established protocols.
- Familiarizes self with cleaning schedules for residents and for common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks.
- Report any issues or concerns in resident rooms to the appropriate personnel.
- Communicate any changes in resident status, needs, or preferences.
- Ensure emergency pull cords are properly installed and functional.
- Maintain janitorial closet organization and stock supplies as needed.
- Keep walkie talkies on at all times to maintain communication.
Cleaning of Facility and Common Areas
- Clean lobby areas, common kitchens, hallways. office areas, conference rooms, outside patios and resident laundry rooms.
- Vacuum individual office areas as needed.
- Report maintenance concerns for the building and grounds to the appropriate team members.
- Assist with cleaning up spills and ensuring floor safety.
- Provide back-up emergency after hours, particularly for water leaks.
Compliance
- Observes all work safety, and administrative rules.
- Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents, staff, and company information.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, worker safety, and other emergency procedures.
- Required to attend monthly staff meetings, training sessions, in-services activities, and department meetings.
- Complete continuous online training as required.
- Comply with all attendance and punctuality requirements.
- Assists with projects as assigned and performs other related duties.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Minimum of one-year relevant work experience.
- Working knowledge of equipment, supplies and chemicals used for housekeeping and laundry tasks.
- Demonstrated experience working in a licensed care facility is preferred.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of education preferred.
- Attendance at mandatory in-service training sessions.
- Completion of job specific in-service training hours as required.
- Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment and practice safe working habits.
- Adhere to the philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents
- Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations related to cleaning, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment, and procedures for dealing with incidents.
- Familiarity and ability to adhere with organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance and punctuality policy.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively with residents, visitors, and colleagues, and document cleaning activities as needed.
- Knowledge of the specific needs and considerations for residents in an assisted living environment, including sensitivity to privacy, respect for individual preferences, and awareness of mobility limitations or other health concerns.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and complete cleaning assignments within established timeframes with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates high level of confidentiality to protect privacy of patients.
- Display professionalism, cleanliness, good grooming, and appropriate dress at all times.

- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 30 lbs, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. This includes carrying cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Frequently required to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms for an extended period of time during a shift.
- Frequent standing, walking, stoops, kneeling, and crouching.
- Use of hands and fingers for tasks like dusting, wiping, cleaning, and using cleaning tools.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level is usually moderate.

Compensation:
Starting Wage Range - $22.00 - $25.00/ Hour
