Summary of Position
The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for driving group sales, developing and maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the achievement of revenue goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in the luxury hotel segment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Roles and Responsibilities
- With high integrity, strives to provide a 5-star experience to guests and colleagues, while providing excellent hospitality.
- Works with the Director of Catering and Conference Services, General Manager, Executive Chef and Sales/Catering/CS team to develop and execute revenue management strategies to maximize space usage while driving higher average checks.
- Work closely with the Group Sales Team to service group room blocks as well as groups with contributing space and food and beverage.
- Create and distribute clear, accurate and concise Banquet Event Orders and diagrams that convey client needs with extreme attention to detail, resulting in total client satisfaction.
- Conduct client site inspections.
- Execute prospecting calls, in-house site visits, client entertainment and off-property sales calls.
- Demonstrate a high level of creativity, personal commitment to service excellence and an emotional sense of gracious hospitality.
- Create and develop sales strategies and then execute actions to meet or exceed sales targets. Sell, promote and develop business through catering and events.
- Create and develop wedding and mitzvah packages with the Director of Marketing.
- Ensure that all bookings revenues are forecasted accurately, ensuring that all contracted minimums for food and beverage and rental are exceeded.
- Work hand in hand with the DOC to ensure proper forecasting and budgeting.
- Meet with meeting and event clients prior to event start to reconfirm final attendance, meal schedule and other last-minute requirements, if any, communicating changes to other departments, as required.
- Manage and assist with social event logistics from guest arrival to main course service, or later as necessary.
- Manage deposits and payments to ensure balances and final payments are up to date per Maybourne Beverly Hills policy and client Agreement.
- Ensure all events are reflected accurately on function boards, set-up on time, completed in accordance with BEO SOPs, and attend to last-minute requests for changes or additional requirements.

- Proficient in computer software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Delphi experience helpful.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, meet deadlines and interact effectively with all levels of team members
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel
- Degree in Marketing and/or Communications preferred
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Possible prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
