We are currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator at our manufacturing facility in in Sterling Heights, MI. We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Human Resources professional to join our team. In this role, you will support various HR functions and help ensure the smooth operation of our HR department. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of labor laws, employee relations, and HR best practices. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day HR functions, which include employee relations, policy adherence, recognition and rewards, training, and development.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees on HR-related issues.
- Oversee recruitment processes including job postings, interviews, hiring, and onboarding.
- Facilitate efficient onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
- Create, maintain, and update job descriptions ensuring they are current.
- Update training records and work with managers to ensure their employees are up to date on any training needs.
- Assist in payroll preparation and processing.
- Reviews and tracks attendance points and issues disciplinary action.
- Manages progressive disciplinary action with managers while ensuring consistency and fair investigations.
- Administers leaves of absence requests. Ensure proper documentation is submitted and processed timely.
- Maintains and organizes personnel files, ensuring accurate and accessible documentation.
- Occasionally assists in planning and coordinating company events.
- Support employee engagement programs to maintain an effective and positive culture.
- Support safety with training, accident investigation and safety incentive programs.
- Will perform additional responsibilities when required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
- HR Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Experience with ADP payroll and time & attendance systems.
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, or related software
- Knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to perform a wide range of HR functions.
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Basic knowledge of employment laws.
- ISO 14001/IATF16949 training requirements and recordkeeping.
