Mayer Brown LLP seeks an Associate Attorney to research and analyze technical and legal positions for ongoing patent litigation matters in US federal courts and before the International Trade Commission. Advise clients on patent portfolio development and maintenance. Advise clients on complex patent disputes involving consumer products and services. Connect with Japanese companies for business development on patent litigation and negotiation. Work with clients on patent licensing and litigation matters. #LI-DNI
Position requires a Master's degree in Law, Legal Studies or a related field, and 3 year of experience providing patent litigation and negotiation support, including in US federal courts and before the International Trade Commission. Experience must include: 3 years of experience with the Japanese patent system, including the Japanese Patent Office; 3 years of experience with negotiating patent licenses with Japanese entities; 3 years of experience with developing patent licensing strategies, patent litigation support, and settlement negotiations; 1 year of experience with IP strategy planning in an in-house setting; 1 year of experience with patent engineering in a high-technology environment. Must be admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia or another US state or territory.
JOB LOCATION: Washington, DC. RATE OF PAY: $225,000.00 to $435,000.00 per year
