The Practice Group Coordinator supports the needs of the Capital Markets, Derivatives and Structured Products, Broker-Dealer, in addition to country/region-specific practices. The Practice Group Coordinator will be responsible for executing various thought leadership initiatives (webinars, publications, and public relations) and new business operations functions (matter openings, conflicts resolution, and engagement letters).
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Events Management
- Coordinate practice group events, sponsorships, teleconferences, webinars and speaking engagements
- Coordinate with third party conference organizers and webcast providers, such as West LegalEd Center, Wolters Kluwer, Intelligize, LexisNexis, PLI, ABA, etc. to plan events
- Identify, coordinate and manage webcast and conference opportunities
- Run webinars using the Zoom and Microsoft Teams platforms
Marketing Support
- Update and maintain marketing materials, including practice profiles, attorney profiles and PowerPoint presentations
- Work with Graphics team and with any third party designers on collateral material
- Coordinate the production of client mailings including newsletters, invitations and other communications pieces
Practice Support
- Assist with opening new client matters, reviewing/drafting engagement letters, and obtaining conflicts waivers and maintaining records of conflict waivers
- Ensure that team administrative needs and requests are fulfilled accurately and efficiently
- Facilitate interaction between marketing team and others, including attorneys, staff, and non-Firm personnel. Schedule meetings, arrange conference rooms, communicate with participants, distribute materials, etc.
- Update practice materials and collateral materials
- Prepare vendor invoices for payment and resolve invoice-related questions
- Communicate with vendors on product information, billing information, etc.
- Maintain vendor information and contract files
Rankings
- Provide support to Practice Group Manager (and Practice Group Leader) in preparing ranking directory submissions and award submissions to Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, IFLR1000 and other groups
Business Development
- Assist with the preparation of pitches, proposals, presentations and other client-facing materials, utilizing existing content and, when needed, creating new content
- Assist the team with the preparation of responses to RFPs & RFIs, including execution and delivery
- Conduct research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition and conflicts via firm-wide resources, online databases, and utilization of library resources
- Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives
Qualifications
Education/Training/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
Professional Experience:
- Basic interest in finance, technology and research preferred
- 2-3 years of demonstrated success in a proposal management, presentation preparation, research, management, and/or communications-related field, either in the professional services (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) or in a comparable position(s) in the corporate, trade association, or academic sectors
Technical Skills:
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat skills required
- Familiarity with WebEx/Zoom webinars strongly preferred
- Familiarity with research and research platforms (Capital IQ, CB Insights, PitchBook), project management preferred

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors

The typical pay scale for this position is between $83,600 and $114,500, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
