Mayes and Sons Plumbing Company is seeking motivated individuals to apply their skills as a Concrete Laborer/Finisher. Qualified candidate will be responsible for physically preparing, mixing, pouring, and smoothing concrete on construction sites. Position includes but not limited to performing tasks like building forms, spreading concrete into molds, finishing surfaces with trowels. Concrete Laborer/Finisher work includes ability to complete various structures like floors, sidewalks, driveways, and curbs. You will ensure high-quality work while adhering to safety standards while reporting to the site supervisor. Core skills in concrete work will be best complimented with ability to operate heavy equipment and a dump truck. Join us in building a solid foundation for our future. The ideal candidate will have experience including, but not limited to:
- Clearing work areas, spreading stone, tamping, digging trenches, setting up forms and bracing.
- Combining concrete ingredients according to specifications.
- Carefully transferring mixed concrete into forms, ensuring even distribution.
- Using tools like trowels to spread and smooth the poured concrete to achieve desired levels.
- Applying textures, adding expansion joints, and performing final smoothing operations.
- Removing excess concrete, debris, and cleaning tools after completion.
- Adhering to all safety regulations regarding personal protective equipment and worksite procedures.
Skills and abilities required for a concrete laborer/finisher:
- Maintain equipment in acceptable condition.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- A clean driving record.
- Knowledge related to operating heavy equipment and/or a dump truck.
Expectations of position:
- Clean driving record.
- Communicating with coworkers, dispatch team and management to ensure overall success of the business.
- Be on time, accurate and timely with time punching in/out
