Job Description :

Mayfield Residential is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of assigned properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong property management accounting experience, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The Property Accountant will report directly to the President, collaborating with leadership and property management teams to maintain financial integrity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for assigned properties, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Review and analyze property financial statements, identifying variances and providing insights to management.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning to support strategic goals.
• Reconcile tenant accounts, including rent payments, security deposits, and other charges.
• Manage cash flow for assigned properties, ensuring timely vendor payments and expense allocations.
• Support new property acquisitions and dispositions, ensuring smooth financial transitions.
• Maintain compliance with tax, insurance, and regulatory requirements related to property accounting.
• Collaborate with property management teams to ensure financial best practices are followed.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
