Responsibilities:
- Medical Assistant Duties:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be an integral part of our clinical team, providing compassionate care and support to our patients. Your responsibilities will include but not limited too:
- Assisting healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for patients.
- Recording patient vital signs accurately and maintaining thorough and up-to-date medical documentation.
- Preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring proper stocking of medical supplies.
- Conducting basic lab tests, administering medications, and providing patient education on treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Conducts callbacks per provider instruction in an efficient and timely manner, while maintaining proper telephone etiquette.
- Adheres to all safety standards, including but not limited to, equipment maintenance, infection control, universal precautions and use of personal protective equipment as needed for all patient-care procedures.
- Medical Records Duties:
In your role as the Medical Records Coordinator, you will take the lead in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient medical records. Your responsibilities will include:
- Organizing and updating patient medical records in our electronic medical record (EMR) system, maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Managing patient records requests, referrals, and other administrative tasks related to medical records management.
- Collaborating with clinical and administrative staff to streamline record-keeping processes and improve documentation workflows.
- Developing and implementing efficient record-keeping systems to streamline workflows and improve accessibility to patient information.
- HCC/HEDIS Duties:
You will play a pivotal role in driving quality improvement initiatives through HCC and HEDIS compliance, leveraging your expertise in coding and data analysis. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with healthcare providers, coding specialists, and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient diagnoses and procedures.
- Conducting thorough reviews of medical records to identify opportunities for improving HCC and HEDIS performance metrics.
- Analyzing data and generating reports to track progress towards HCC and HEDIS goals, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Providing training and support to staff on HCC and HEDIS documentation requirements and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a medical assistant program and certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is required.
- Proof of Covid 19 vaccination is required.
- CPR & BLS is required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is required.
- Experience in medical records management and/or HCC/HEDIS coordination is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Pediatrics and Family/Internal Practice is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and coding principles is highly desirable.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills a must.
- General knowledge of healthcare insurance and terminology.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
- Attributes:

- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
