Bandsaw (Machine Operator - Tech. III)

Deerfield Packaging is looking to employ hardworking, self-motivatedindividuals to operate its bandsaw used in cutting and preparing the steel for manufacturing.

Job Characteristics

• Proper and safe set up of bandsaw machine, including checking fluid levels and evaluating blade status
• Read prints and shop packs for tool and alloy specifications and to set correct cutting speed and length
• Load and stack steel according to size and steel type to maximize job load
• Maximize saw blade life whenever possible
• Change worn blades as necessary and honing the blade after installation
• Able to use manual and electric lifts to transport raw and finished materials
• Use calipers and measuring tapes to ensure precision
• Obtain first piece sign off from supervisor at the start of every new job

Required Skills

• Ability to read and follow tool schematics
• Hoisting Engineer License (3A) or ability to acquire one
• Close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Written and verbal English communication skills
• Able to work with a team to accomplish company goals
• Strict attention to safety procedures and guidelines including wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Adherence to attendance policy

Required Education/Experience

•  High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education/Experience

• Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial facility
