Description
Instructor will teach a small group of students seeking to improve their skills in operating a personal computer. The computer skills taught are beginning level, including turning on a computer, navigating Windows, accessing the internet, and creating an email. Course content will not include more intermediate or advanced computer skills and will utilize the Northstar Digital Literacy curriculum. Candidate should be comfortable working with adult students with differing ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.
Schedule : Weekday mornings, approximately six hours per week
Primary Duties
- Facilitates individual and group instruction activities to help adult learners improve their basic computer skills
- Delivers engaging instructional activities and lessons for adult learners
- Discusses and helps set appropriate academic goals with each student
- Maintains accurate records and related paperwork to be submitted to the office in a punctual manner
- Sustains positive, professional relationships and communication with students as well as college staff
- Communicates effectively with the administrative team in person, through email, and by telephone
- Participates in staff development sessions, trainings, and other college functions as appropriate
- No outside class duties required
