Mayne Attraction Studios (MAS) aims to be one of the premier dance studios in the Greater Cleveland area, and we have been in business since 2013! We predominately serve African American families, teaching dance technique and choreography to dancers starting at age 3. We are growing quite rapidly, and need energetic, knowledgeable, and committed teachers to join our team!
Must be available for evening and weekend classes during spring semester (Apr-June) and available for full or half day summer camp (June 24-July 26).
Mayne Attraction teachers are responsible for preparing lesson plans and implementing an engaging and challenging (but fun) dance experience. Each dance class should provide knowledge and dance instruction to students, while also helping them develop life skills and strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job, exhibit outstanding skills in class management, organization, and communication, and make learning a fun and meaningful process.
Must have at least 2 years previous experience with teaching technique and choreography for beginner and intermediate levels. Definitely a plus if you are pursuing (or have already earned) a dance related college degree, and have experience teaching multiple genres (Ballet, Jazz, Acro and/or Hip Hop).
Responsibilities
- Teaching dance technique and choreography to students in weekly dance class(es) on the day(s) and time(s) agreed upon by dance teacher and Studio Director
- Preparing and submitting weekly lesson plans for classes taught
- Meeting work and communication deadlines set by Director
- Demonstrating professional interactions with students, including effective class management, setting appropriate challenges/goals, and giving constructive criticism
- Communicating with parents/guardians about student progress, expectations, and performance details, etc.
- Offering stage hand/teaching services for all showcases, community performances, and open house/marketing opportunities

Pay: $15.00 - $35.00 per hour
