The law firm of Mayne, Hindman, Frey, Parry & Wingert is looking for a full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our firm. Said person will assist lawyers with tasks in the legal areas of criminal and personal injury law among others. This work requires the utmost discretion and confidentiality for the firm’s clients.
This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week expected. Regular working hours are negotiable based on lunch schedule; i.e., Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (staff lunches are staggered to ensure phone coverage).

Job Description.
- Answer the telephone and route calls.
- Screen telephone calls for potential leads.
- Retrieve, sort, and disburse daily mail, and respond to mail, as directed.
- Communicate orally and in writing with third parties via telephone, email, letter, and in person.
- Assist with filing hard copies and electronic files in coordination with attorneys.
- Scanning and shredding items as directed.
- Assist with binder production and large copy projects.
- Order and maintain office supplies.
- Interact with vendors.
- Proof, format, and send letters or other correspondence, as needed.
- Assist with maintaining accurate office calendars.
- Assist with minor software and office equipment needs.
- Drafting and filing pleadings.
- Preparing correspondence.
- Managing and organizing case files.
- Communicating with clients.
- Other related office duties, as assigned.
Requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three years’ office experience in the legal field.
- Experience in Microsoft products, faxing, copying, scanning, and organizing documents and files.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and writing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High degree of the ability to maintain confidentiality of the firm’s clients.
