Mayo healthcare located in Northfield Vermont is currently looking for an experienced Chef to serve as our Director of Culinary Services and Event Caterer. The Chef will oversee all aspects of the dietary department including daily operations, kitchen cost, food preparation and presentation, menu planning, and staff management.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ordering, preparing, serving large groups.
- Hire, train, manage dietary personnel.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to promote a happy work environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Be ServSafe certified.
Responsibilities include:
- Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of Head Chef.
- Cater Mayo events as needed with input on food choices and presentation.
- Ensure policies and regulations are followed at all times.
- Review all menu requirements prior to the preparation of food.
- Manage dietary staff
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance and in accordance with food safety regulations and established portion control procedures.
- Round with residents after meal service is complete to do quality rounds.
- Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents when needed.

- Experience with scheduling
- Serve Safe certified preferred or willing to acquire
