Sewing Operator

Responsibilities:

· Sews at a proficient level of quality and quantity

· Sews appropriate pieces as assigned, including flatwork. Specializes in at least one of the following areas: body sewing, cushion sewing, skirt sewing, pillow sewing and/or special operations

· Controls supplies waste

· Keeps work organized

· Performs typical sewing operations to support the assembly floor in a manner that is advanced

· Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor

· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

· Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required

· Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above

· Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up

· Light to moderate physical effort required

· Must be able to reposition up to 25 pounds

· Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility

Qualifications:

Desire 6 months factory related experience (or equivalent experience and/or skill level).

Salary Range:

$10.95 - $12.99 per hour

Schedule:

Hours for all production positions are generally 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday may be required.

Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools
