Representing the interest of all District residents and visitors who find themselves as a patient or a client of a healthcare professional, consumer members work alongside healthcare professionals with the support of board staff to foster excellence in our medical facilities, build quality and safety in our healthcare systems, and protect the health of our communities. This can include evaluating the qualifications of license applicants, reviewing complaints against medical professionals and facilities, issuing advisory opinions on how to comply with regulations, or contributing to reports on healthcare experiences, outcomes, or goals.
