SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Plans, directs and coordinates the establishment of systems, policies and programs that support company objectives for Quality. Directs quality assurance operations for the plant. Develops and controls quality programs in compliance with ISO 9000 and other applicable standards. Audits operations conformance with QA standards and procedures. Conducts quality assurance training for staff and operators. Suggests methods for improving product quality, design, or manufacturing processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline and three (3) to five (5) years of quality experience or a minimum of eight (8) to 12 years of quality experience is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.

- Responsible to address product issues, warranty, or other quality related problems
- Manages product quality systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9000 and engineering standards.
- Leads process or product improvement efforts including the use of lean strategies and initiatives.
- Manages the internal quality audit process and provides feedback to teams on all defects found
- Coordinates warranty support activities to include manufacturing of parts and/or use of internal labor to perform warranty work at customer location
- Administers warranty tracking process and appropriate corrective action
- Administer Return Material Authorization process
- Responsible for Quality Assurance departmental policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Coordinates & delivers the organization’s response to external customer quality issues.
- Manages supplier quality issues via supplier quality surveys, supplier quality reporting, supplier qualification and certification, etc.
- Maintains the organization’s Quality System ISO certification.
- Maintains the calibration program.
- Principal plant contact for agencies (UL, CSA, etc.) on all released products. Maintains on-site agency files and hosts agency inspections.
