Overview
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include meeting production requirements, on-time shipments, quality, safety and housekeeping.
Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Operations Manager while working directly with process personnel to optimize quality and throughout. Responsibilities
- Schedules all direct labor personnel on daily work activities.
- Ensures personnel are trained on latest revision levels of ISO/TS16949 procedures and Work Instructions.
- Ensures employees are complying with manufacturing process documentation.
- Maintains schedule adherence and works with management on proper staffing levels to meet schedules.
- Maintains proper quality standards on all products being produced on shift.
- Ensures that all documentation is being filled out and distributed properly.
- Answers employee questions and directs them regarding work flow, equipment, production processes and procedures.
- Distributes supplies, takes inventory, and initiates reorder as needed.
- Advises plant manager of process improvement ideas, production issues, maintenance items, safety matters, and other information.
- Performs positions in the focus factory as needed including production paperwork, data entry, ability to red blueprints if called for, operate forklift, hoists and lifts.
- Must be able to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
- Follows acceptable employee relation practices and company policies.
- Work independently or with others to determine, troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Ensures employees maintain and practice proper safety requirements including good housekeeping.
- Security of building.
- Candidate should be open to either first or second shift.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: High school diploma/GED; or three years equivalent experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior supervisory experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
