Mechanical Engineer (Production) - Florence, KY
Mazak Corporation is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Production Engineering department at the Florence, KY headquarters. This position requires a candidate capable to perform tasks ranging from initial concept development / proposal to design and production of CNC Machine Tools for Mazak Corp. Duties are not limited to day-to-day support for all technical details related to the production of Machine Tool equipment.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Interpret requirements for standardized and customer specific equipment.
- Design & detailing of mechanical features of the machine tool.
- Tasks include the design, detailing, and maintaining of all machine related systems including; High precision components, fabricated items, hydraulic/pneumatic/cooling circuits.
- Design administrative duties include attendance at design reviews, prepare necessary documentation including bill of materials, mechanical drawings, maintenance and parts manuals, Instruction and check sheet documents, Sales documentation.
- Troubleshoot machine related mechanical issues.
- Execute design tasks using 2D & 3D CAD pkgs
- Cleary communicate design intent in writing.
- Assume lead design engineer role on assigned projects.
- Maintain and track personal workload.
- Travel up to 10% to 15% of the time.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent education), or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
Skills:
- Two to Five Years of experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and/or Machine Tool capability is highly desirable
- Candidates should have knowledge of mechanical/pneumatic designs and design techniques.
- Candidates must have knowledge of computer aided design software techniques. (MS Office, 2D and 3D CAD techniques - Solidworks preferred).
