Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks. Duties
- Install and maintain fiber optic cabling systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform fiber splicing and termination using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to diagnose issues and verify installations.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers to ensure proper network connectivity.
- Collaborate with team members to telecommunicate project updates and resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct routine inspections of installed systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Document all work performed, including installation details, testing results, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Ethernet cabling standards and practices.
- Experience with computer networking principles and practices.
- Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques and equipment.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools related to installation and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of Cisco routers is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate teamwork and client interactions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
