The Program

The Position
As an intern in the Protein Sciences group, you will be responsible for conducting experiments to express, purify, and biophysically characterize target proteins aligned with our current drug discovery objectives. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams within a cutting-edge biotech company and receive mentorship from scientists from across Maze—gaining exposure to diverse career paths in the biotechnology industry. The role is ideal for a student with a background in biochemistry research looking to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting and make a meaningful impact.
How You’ll Contribute
- Experimental Support :
- Conduct protein expression and purification experiments to support drug discovery programs
- Perform biophysical assays such as nanoDSF, MST, or TR-FRET to characterize target protein stability and activity
- Ensure proper documentation of experiments.
- Data Collection and Analysis :
Record experimental data accurately and assist with data analysis using tools such as Excel, GraphPad. or other bioinformatics software.
Support the troubleshooting and optimization of experimental protocols under the supervision of experienced scientists.
Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects and explore new techniques relevant to the project goals.
Work with teams across Maze to advance project objectives and gain exposure to different aspects of biotechnology research.
Gain hands-on experience in research techniques for protein purification while fostering your professional growth.
Adhere to compliance standards for safety and research integrity.

The expected hourly rate for this role is as follows :
Undergraduate : $28.00 / hour
