Position Summary:
A Hoist Fabricator/Welder is responsible for assembling component parts adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. The Fabricator/Welder will verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking items as needed or called out on process travelers, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound Hoist. This person will weld machined parts to create weldments utilized in the assembly of the hoist. They will also assist, when needed, to build Overhead Cranes.

This person will weld machined parts to create weldments utilized in the assembly of the hoist. They will also assist, when needed, to build Overhead Cranes.
Job Duties
- Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as welders, punches, flame cutters, and drill presses
- Ability to fabricate and assemble crane hoist, trollies, and overhead bridge cranes according to job order via understanding of blueprint design and verbal instructions
- Develop layout and plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal
- Ability to verify conformance or work pieces to specifications
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to ensure they are working correctly
- Ensure precise fittings of bearings, gears and shafts, motors, couplings
- Use machinery and/or equipment such as forklifts, manual lifts, overhead cranes, etc. to move mechanical parts and materials
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Certified welder: Flux core, Mig/tig in flat, vertical, and overhead positions (certification can be obtained after employment, welding experience needed)
- Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
- Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
- Requires written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Conceptual and planning skills are required
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to change work priorities frequently
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
