Data Center Site Technician (Kearney, Holdrege, McCook)

Position Overview:

MB Club, LLC is seeking a full-time, on-site Data Center Site Technician to join our team at our Nebraska data centers. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mining machines and support infrastructure, ensuring maximum efficiency and uptime. The ideal candidate will oversee the repair of ASIC mining devices, site maintenance, monitoring, and adhere to safety protocols to keep the data center operating smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Miner Diagnosis and Repair:

• Perform in-depth diagnosis, repair, and testing of defective ASIC mining devices (e.g., Bitmain, Whatsminer).
• Conduct chip-level failure analysis to identify and resolve issues.
• Implement corrective actions and solutions based on test results and analysis.

Site Maintenance & Monitoring:

• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, cooling, and security systems within the data center.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, including servers, network devices, and power distribution, to ensure maximum uptime.
• Assist with cable management, rack installation, and general workspace organization.

Documentation & Communication:

• Document all repair processes, providing detailed reports on failures, root causes, and corrective actions taken.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of repair activities and equipment status.
• Communicate technical findings and resolutions to management and relevant stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to optimize the performance and functionality of existing systems.
• Propose and implement improvements to repair processes and methodologies.
• Share technical knowledge with team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.

Compliance, Safety, & Work Ethic:

• Follow all safety protocols and industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Proactively assist with preventive maintenance, work area organization, and team support during non-repair periods.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Prior experience in Bitcoin miner repair (e.g., Bitmain, Whatsminer) is highly preferred.
• Previous data center or computer hardware maintenance experience is beneficial.
• Associate degree or equivalent work experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mining equipment.
• Ability to perform chip-level failure analysis and determine root causes.
• Proficiency in using test and repair equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
• General computer and networking knowledge (server repair, basic operating system tasks).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.

Physical & Other Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move computer hardware (up to 50 lbs.)
• Availability for on-call rotations, overtime, and weekend shifts as required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
