Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class B CDL-licensed Truck Driver to transport construction materials and equipment to various job sites safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be physically capable of handling the demands of the role, including loading and unloading materials and navigating diverse terrain. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport construction materials to and from job sites
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment or manual labor as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Report vehicle issues promptly
- Secure materials properly to prevent shifting or damage during transport
- Responsible for efficiently transporting tools, supplies, and equipment from the warehouse to job sites, ensuring timely delivery
- Adhere to operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials
- Learn our inventory program to help keep an accurate inventory count
- Check tools, trailers, and other equipment in and out of the tool room
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site Foreman/Superintendents, and other team members
- Comply with all DOT regulations
Requirements:
- Valid Class A or B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a clean driving record and a valid current DOT physical required
- Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy materials up to 50 lbs. Occasional team lifting and/or carrying of materials and/or supplies weighing up to 100 lbs
- Forklift experience preferred
- Must be able to listen attentively and communicate effectively with others
- Must keep the work area neat, clean, and free from debris or safety hazards
- Maintain a courteous and responsive approach with co-workers, vendors, and drivers
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and construction site environments
- This position requires physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking, frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping, and climbing
