A Day in the Life
The Project Manager will direct and oversee multiple concurrent construction projects, from real estate development conception to construction completion, ensuring compliance with Mo’ Bettahs specifications, safety, and building regulations.
The PM must work effectively both in the office and in the field, collaborating with architects, engineers, and landlords to ensure construction design standards and lease terms are accurately delivered. The PM communicates relevant information regarding new construction projects with internal teams, including Ops, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Design, and Finance. The PM is responsible for communicating with contractors and vendors regarding expectations and quality control to deliver on the Mo' Bettahs vision statement.
The Project Manager reports directly to the VP of Development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the entire construction process through completion, adhering to the company's project management system (planning, permitting, bidding, construction, project closeout).
- Manage construction budgets and all financial aspects of the project.
- Qualify and develop outsource GCs, subs, suppliers, and vendors; implement processes to manage these resources and conduct performance evaluations.
- Consult with the VP of Development to ensure high standards, implement best practices, and track construction costs.
- Model a positive attitude regarding brand development, motivate and lead construction partners, and promote the Mo’ Bettahs vision.
- Cultivate and protect brand identity by ensuring quality of fit and finish, adherence to specifications and standards, compliance with construction timeframes and budgets, and assisting in pre-opening marketing efforts.
- Ensure outside vendors' compliance with billing, payments, submittal of required documents, and all construction-related documentation.
- Ensure all construction documentation is complete and accurate, all change orders are vetted and documented and maintain up-to-date construction drawings by communicating relevant changes in the field back to the design team.
- Be an active and engaged participant by bringing ideas, suggestions, and solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to effectively manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Expert understanding and utilization of construction documents, including plan reading.

Education and Experience:
- 5 years as a Project Manager on QSR retail projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field.
Working Conditions:
- Position requires qualified individuals to see, hear, and speak (verbally and audibly).
- Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- May be required to work outside in various weather conditions.
- May be required to work on a computer for extended periods, including viewing the screen, using a mouse, manipulating a keyboard with hands, and reaching with arms.
- May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes.
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment.
- Must be able to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non-sedative state.
- Must disclose prescribed and/or over-the-counter pharmaceuticals that may impair or affect the ability to perform the job's essential functions.
