MBAcsi is seeking an experienced Project Manager (A/E) to manage and support small design and construction projects related to facility maintenance, repair, and alterations. This position will oversee project lifecycle activities, ensuring deadlines, responsibilities, and progress are effectively monitored and communicated. The role involves collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver facility initiatives across the country.
Initially, the position requires working on-site at a customer location for a 6-month probationary and training period. Based on performance and client approval, the role may transition to a hybrid teleworking model (1 day per week from home). Candidates must have reliable home Wi-Fi and a computer to telework. Occasional travel will be required.
Essential Functions:
- Provide engineering consulting services, offering technical expertise to address construction project challenges and develop alternative solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and evaluations for engineering systems, ensuring project objectives align with USPS requirements.
- Prepare and justify engineering proposals, including alternative designs for facilities, systems, and equipment for management review.
- Analyze technical, cost, and economic data to develop project alternatives that support postal operations.
- Manage project activities, including design, construction, testing, startup, and operation of facilities, systems, or equipment.
- Draft and review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including technical drawings and specifications, and evaluate bids for accuracy and compliance.
- Attend preconstruction and final acceptance meetings; conduct on-site inspections and report noncompliance with contract requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and construction representatives on the design and construction of postal facilities.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical), or Construction Management.
- Experience:
- Required: 3-7 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance, minor construction, or facility alterations.
- Preferred: Experience in repair and alteration projects for commercial facilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as needed and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
