We are seeking a Facility Condition Assessment Inspector . This individual will be the primary project manager responsible for the development of the deferred maintenance backlog of the Capital, Repair and Alteration projects for the US Postal Service. This individual will be required to travel extensively (approximately %) to various site. Given the geographic area of responsibility an individual in the Northeast region is preferred.
Essential Functions :
- Development of a facility inspection schedule that meets FSO condition assessment inspection objectives.
- Gather necessary data and making the necessary arrangements prior to the inspections.
- Conduct building inspections per USPS-provided standards.
- Identify current replacement values (CRV).
- Develop Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates of work needed to correct deficiencies.
- Generate, validating and updating facility condition index (FCI) data.
- Upload completed inspection reports and supporting photographs into the US Postal Service's Infrastructure Condition Assessment Module (ICAM) software.
- Provide QA / QC review and validation of Plant and Small Facility self-assessments completed by stations.
- Accomplishing significant travel to and from USPS facilities within the assigned USPS region.
- Updates, maintains and ensures the credibility of the FSO deferred maintenance backlog and subsequent five-year plan for R&A and capital projects.
- Identifies facility repairs not accomplished as part of routine maintenance which have reached the point where facility deterioration and / or life safety concerns are evident and affect the proper functioning of the facility.
- Exercises discretion in the application of the inspection procedures to include estimates of material cost, labor cost and the incorporation of USPS standards.
