As a Medical Assistant guided by the Center Administrator, your role involves providing administrative support to facilitate efficient operations within the medical facility. You'll assist Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and patients with tasks related to patient care coordination, organization, and communication. The objective is to carry out all tasks with precision, maintaining high standards of quality, and meeting deadlines promptly.
Work Schedule: Tuesday to Friday, from 1:00pm to 10:00pm
*Must also be available for one week of on call duty each quarter.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for exams and treatment by recording vital signs, conducting patient interviews, and documenting basic medical histories.
- Efficiently triage patients based on urgency and scheduling requirements.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, such as administering vaccinations, conducting drug and alcohol tests, giving injections, performing EKGs, and collecting blood samples.
- Maintain and restock supplies; ensure treatment rooms and medical instruments are sanitized and prepared.
- Perform front office tasks as necessary, including welcoming patients, managing check in and check out process, handling phone calls and patient scheduling.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of medical records and updates to insurance reports.
- Coordinate hospital admissions and laboratory services as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Socially perceptive and customer service oriented.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Must also be available for one week of on-call duty each quarter.
