Job Description

Available Hours: Monday through Friday 10:00AM-6:00PM

Compensation: $17.50 per hour

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide personal care assistance and ensure a safe environment for the consumer
• Offer companionship and support during community outings, recreational, and leisure activities
• Perform household management tasks, including meal preparation and light housekeeping
• Complete required documentation, such as shift checklists and incident reports
• Maintain and monitor safety equipment, adaptive devices, and living conditions
• Implement emergency procedures and safety precautions as outlined in company policies
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding consumer needs and concerns

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Successfully complete Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Physical ability to assist with personal care and perform light housekeeping duties
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
• Complete other trainings as required by stakeholders and management
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness
• Willingness to learn and adapt to clients' individual needs
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Emotional stability and resilience in a challenging work environment
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
