Job Description
Available Hours: Monday through Friday 10:00AM-6:00PM
Compensation: $17.50 per hour
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide personal care assistance and ensure a safe environment for the consumer
- Offer companionship and support during community outings, recreational, and leisure activities
- Perform household management tasks, including meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Complete required documentation, such as shift checklists and incident reports
- Maintain and monitor safety equipment, adaptive devices, and living conditions
- Implement emergency procedures and safety precautions as outlined in company policies
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding consumer needs and concerns
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Successfully complete Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Physical ability to assist with personal care and perform light housekeeping duties
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Complete other trainings as required by stakeholders and management
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Willingness to learn and adapt to clients' individual needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- Emotional stability and resilience in a challenging work environment
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
