Summary: Manage day-to-day planning, operation and problem-solving for departmental tasks to ensure production, quality, and safety requirements are achieved per production schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead by example (be a role model) – behave consistently with Cobalt values, policies, and procedures
Communicate daily with team concerning safety, quality, efficiency, and other specified company information - Report issues, problems, and/or concerns as needed to management
- Coordinate manpower to required daily tasks based on absenteeism and production requirements considering cost of labor, safety, quality, and production needs
- Makes sound decisions using facts and data that are in the best interest of Cobalt.
- Shows initiative, courage, integrity, and bases decisions on what is best for the company, not the individual.
- Perform production tasks within the department as needed (i.e., absenteeism, production demands, R & D etc.)
- Create an environment oriented to open communications, cohesive team effort and workplace trust
- Manage, train, and develop team members; help resolve any issues and/or unproductive behaviors
- Assist, and lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts
- Foster collaboration and teamwork within and between departments
Ensure all team members have the required training, tools, and/or materials to effectively complete tasks - Required to assume certain leadership functions in absence of supervisor
- Other duties may be assigned as required

- Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule; must be very detail oriented; general knowledge of operating power tools and hand tools safely; must be able to read and execute build instruction from work orders.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
