Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced HVAC / R Technician to join our team at MBL Facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing HVAC / R equipment in all MBL buildings, ensuring the efficient operation of essential refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as providing technical oversight and support to other mechanics.
Major Responsibilities :
- Maintain and repair refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including associated electrical and mechanical controls.
- Service research support refrigeration equipment such as centrifuges, ice machines, and domestic refrigerators.
- Capture and store used refrigerants for future use, ensuring compliance with current standards and maintaining appropriate recovery licenses.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records for MBL equipment, including data entry and service record management.
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies; order parts (compressors, motors, belts, refrigerants) as needed.
- Collaborate with other Plant Operations and Maintenance staff to address mechanical needs.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to other mechanics regarding HVAC / R systems.
- Serve as Category I Essential Personnel during emergencies, including storm preparation, facility protection, and restoration of normal operations.
- Be available for on-call shifts and emergency work as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
