What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Researcher Wanted position at MBL?
About the Project
This research project aims to understand the mechanisms underlying maternal age effects on offspring health and lifespan. The project will investigate the role of mitochondrial dynamics and metabolism in these effects using a combination of molecular, bioinformatic, biochemical, and imaging techniques.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioinformatics, or a related field. Experience in rotifer biology is not necessary, but knowledge of other model systems and expertise in bioinformatics, cell biology, biochemistry, epigenetics, and/or imaging is highly desirable.
Key qualifications include a Ph.D. in a relevant field, a record of scientific rigor, productivity, and creativity, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Applicants should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong passion for advancing our understanding of aging and its effects on offspring health and lifespan.
