Provide high-quality, audience-focused financial content for digital platforms, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Report, write, revise, and maintain impactful money-focused content for digital platforms in accessible, straightforward language.
- Address organizational priorities by producing content on topics like saving, smart shopping, retirement planning, and personal finance.
- Collaborate with the Money Editor to develop creative approaches for storytelling.
- Partner with editorial and copy teams to refine content, address gaps, and optimize online coverage.
- Work with the Executive Editor to align financial content with broader organizational goals and resolve challenges.
- Utilize the Content Production System (CPS) and related tools to prepare stories for publication efficiently.
- Provide thorough annotations and source documentation to streamline the fact-checking process.
- Partner with digital designers to create engaging visuals, including illustrations and Q&A graphics.
- Identify and integrate relevant, reputable statistics into graphics like charts, maps, and tables.
- Collaborate with the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) team to shape content that maximizes discoverability and organic search performance.
- Maintain familiarity with company's existing Money content inventory to enhance inline linking and avoid topic duplication.
- Develop SEO-friendly headlines and manage content schedules and inventories effectively.
- Coordinate with cross-departmental teams and contribute to meetings as needed.
Must Have:
- 5 years of recent journalism experience - working for national publications
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant writing samples
