Title: Money Writer - Content Development Services

Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week

Duration: Immediate through end of 2025

Location: Remote

Description:

Provide high-quality, audience-focused financial content for digital platforms, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Report, write, revise, and maintain impactful money-focused content for digital platforms in accessible, straightforward language.
• Address organizational priorities by producing content on topics like saving, smart shopping, retirement planning, and personal finance.
• Collaborate with the Money Editor to develop creative approaches for storytelling.
• Partner with editorial and copy teams to refine content, address gaps, and optimize online coverage.
• Work with the Executive Editor to align financial content with broader organizational goals and resolve challenges.
• Utilize the Content Production System (CPS) and related tools to prepare stories for publication efficiently.
• Provide thorough annotations and source documentation to streamline the fact-checking process.
• Partner with digital designers to create engaging visuals, including illustrations and Q&A graphics.
• Identify and integrate relevant, reputable statistics into graphics like charts, maps, and tables.
• Collaborate with the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) team to shape content that maximizes discoverability and organic search performance.
• Maintain familiarity with company's existing Money content inventory to enhance inline linking and avoid topic duplication.
• Develop SEO-friendly headlines and manage content schedules and inventories effectively.
• Coordinate with cross-departmental teams and contribute to meetings as needed.

Must Have:

• 5 years of recent journalism experience - working for national publications
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant writing samples
